Thelma Arlene Anthony

Thelma Arlene Anthony (Arlene), 91 of Union City passed away peacefully January 12, 2022, surrounded by her family at the Wayne Hospital in Greenville, OH.

She was born November 30, 1930 to the late George and Irene (Jones) Dumford. She was a graduate of Jackson HS. She met Lloyd Anthony just days after he was home from the Navy and they married in 1948 and began raising a family. Arlene worked in the Mississinawa HS cafeteria for many years until retirement. She was an avid reader of mystery books and a fierce card player. She liked her garden, her flowers and of course her cats. But nothing made her happier than being with her family. While she will be forever missed by all of us, we know she is now reunited with the love of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Donald Lloyd in 2009, and her son Steven in 2021.
Family includes her 3 children: Jack, Kelly (Pam), and Karen (Greg) Brechlin. 7 grand-children: Jason (Traci), Paulieanna (Ben) Tripp, Jennifer (Scott) Fitzgerald, Ashley, Abbi (Austin) Hoover, Lance (Lyndsay) and Olivia. 11 great-grandchildren: Andrew, Ean, Connor, Elijah, Caroline, Payton, Jack, Grant, Riley, Eli and Aubrey, and 4 step grandchildren: Sierra, Payge, Alie & Maddie, and 1 great-great grandson, Grayson.
A private service is planned at Reichert Funeral Home in Union City at 10:00 am on Tuesday January 18, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 11:45 am at Teegarden Cemetery in Ansonia Ohio.
