Ronald Tim Murphy

Ronald Tim Murphy of Union City, Indiana passed away on December 17, 2024, at the age of 88 following an extended illness at the Brethren’s Home.

Tim was born on June 6, 1936, in Huntington, Indiana to the late William and Mary (Helvie) Murphy. Tim graduated from Madison High School in Jay County, Indiana.

In 1962 Tim, his brother Phil and father Bill began the operations of the NAPA stores. The store locations of Union City, Fort Recovery, and Winchester they owned and operated for over 43 years. Tim also enjoyed many hobbies of flying, camping, gardening, restoring cars, and remodeling homes.

Tim and Margaret Mote were married on December 21, 1963, at South Salem Church. He is survived by his devoted wife of over 60 years and his 4 children: Ronald II (Allen, TX), Elizabeth (Pleasant Garden, NC), William (Appleton, WI), and Abigail (Greenville, OH) and their families. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Phil Murphy also of Union City, Indiana.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on January 3, 2025, at South Salem Church.
