Robert âBobâ Gard, 84, of 115 Pleasant Drive, Union City, Ind., passed away Monday, March 13, 2017.
He was born on May 30, 1932 in Randolph County, IN to the late Robert Voyle and Vera Mae (Cox) Gard.
Bob was married on April 24, 1955 to Carolyn (Helms) Gard who preceded him in death on July 5, 2014.
Bob owned and operated Gard's Meat Market in Union City, Ind. He attended Wesley United Methodist Church and was a member of the Lions Club. Bob also worked at Union City Body Company and at Winchester Golf Club for many years.
Survivors include his children, Robert J. âJeffâ (Dorinda Kaye) Gard of Portland, Rhonda Gard of Pensacola, Fla., and Jay Gard of Foley, Ala.; 7 grandchildren, Mindy Gard, Melonie Gard, Matthew Bowman, Brandon Gard, Joshua Bowman, Brittany Hartmeyer and Misty Bowman; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Alice Mae (Robert) Cross of Muncie, IN; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; and siblings, Marian Gard, Marvin Gard, Don Gard, and Mabel Daugherty.
Funeral services are 1p.m. Saturday March 18th, 2017 at Reichard Funeral Home, 400 W. Deerfield Rd., Union City, Ind., with Pastor Roger Ash officiating. Burial will follow in the Union City Cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday also at the funeral home.
