Richard Leon Harmeson

Richard Leon Harmeson, 95, Jacksboro, TN, formally of Union City, IN passed away peacefully July 13, 2021 in LaFollette, TN. He was Born in Darke County, OH on October 20th, 1925, the son of the late Bevin and Mary (Gunther) Harmeson. He attended Wayne Township High School.
Richard retired from the Union City Body Company after 25 years, then served 14 years as chairperson for Body Company retirees. He was a member of the Harrisville Congregational Church and attended the Jacksboro, TN EUM church after moving to TN.
Mr. Harmeson is survived by his loving wife, Helen (Martin) Harmeson; a son, Jay Harmeson (wife, Angie); two grandchildren, Alisha Harmeson Owen (husband, RJ Owen), Whitney Jones (husband, Russell Jones); two step grandchildren, Nick Howard and Mahala Howard; sister-in-law, Frances Catherine Harmeson.
Mr. Harmeson was proceeded in death by a son Martin Allen Lenker, a brother James Robert Harmeson and a sister Martha Dean Coger (husband, Bill).
Mr. Harmeson served in WWII in 1944-1946 in the US Army Air force. Mr. Harmeson was also a member of the American Legion Post 158.
A Military Funeral Honors graveside service open to friends and family will be held Monday July 19, 2021 2:00 PM at the Union City Cemetery in Union City, IN. Private Services have been entrusted to Reichard Funeral Home, Union City IN.
