Richard J. Barga, 82, of Union City, IN, passed away surrounded by family Monday May 8th, 2017 at Pine Knoll in Winchester, IN. He was born July 2, 1934 in Darke County, Ohio, son of the late Alva and Ellen Bulcher Barga.
Richard worked at Sheller-Globe Hardy's Division for 37 years in the maintenance department. He loved to fish, play cards, go to the casino, and enjoyed going to church at the Union Street Wesleyan Church in Winchester.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Joyce A. (Grile) Barga; children, Annette (Kurt) Moore of Stedman, NC, Robbin Waldon of Sidney, OH, Elizabeth (Bill) Peden of Olympia, WA; 10 grandchildren, Brent Moore, Ashlynn Moore, Brandy Moore, James Head, Tia Randolph, Brittany Trujillo, Alec Smith, Lucy Peden, Alice Peden, and George Peden; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Alice (Sylvester) Guggenbiller of Ft. Recovery, OH, Rose Pursley of Kansas City, KS, Robert (Karen) Barga of Greenville, OH; nieces and nephews also.
Richard was preceded by his parents; a daughter, Jody Spitler; 7 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday May 12th, 2017 at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. Deerfield Rd., Union City, IN. Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 13th also at the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Yaryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
