Ralph L. Devaney, 98, passed away Monday January 21, 2019 at Pine Knoll Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, Indiana. He was born August 7, 1920 in Spartanburg, Indiana to the late Harmon F. & Maude A. Lane Devaney. Ralph was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Winchester Masonic Lodge #56, Elks Lodge #1534, Life Member of the D.A.V., and was past President of the National Management Association of Union City.
Ralph was a WWII Army Veteran in the Battle of the Bulge, serving with Company K in the 157th infantry as a TEC 5 from 1944 to 1946. He worked for Martin Aircraft in Baltimore, MD and Cleveland, OH, also at the Union City Mold for 44 years.
Survivors include children, John H. Devaney of Union City, IN, Deanna J. Harter of Union City, IN; grandchildren, Lisa M. (David Ciesko) Wray, Jill M. (Brandon) Pettit, Krista L. (Shane) Roderick, Brian L. (Tammie) Claywell; 7 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews also.
Ralph was preceded by his parents; wife, Mildred E. (Botkins) Devaney "2002;" brothers, Carl and Keith Devaney; sister, Lorraine Berlien.
Visitation is 4-6 PM Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. Deerfield Rd., Union City, IN. Funeral Services are 10:30 AM Friday January 25, 2019 at the Wesley United Methodist Church with visitation 1 hour prior at the church. Rev. Geoff Grow will the conduct services, burial will follow in the Spartanburg Cemetery with full Military Burial Rites.
