Mike Elvis Collins

Mike “Elvis” Collins, 65, of Union City, Ind. passed away Wednesday January 20, 2016 at his residence. He was born August 2, 1950 in Union City son of the late Robert and Lillian Tipple Collins. Mike worked at the Union City Body Company and wrote sports column articles in the News Gazette for 20 years. Mike was a UCCHS class of 1968 graduate; huge Elvis Presley fan; belonged to the Professional Bowlers Assoc, loved local sports, was a great supporter of the community, an avid Nascar fan of Ryan Newman.
He leaves to cherish his memory; wife of 25 years, Jeannie Butcher Collins; children, Kimberly Gilbert of Dayton, Ohio, Krista (Scott) Hoggatt, Robert Michael (Mindy) Collins both of U.C., Ohio, Ryan (Lisa) Collins of U.C., Ind., Ross Collins, Michael J. Collins both of Greenville, Ohio, Tony (Jamie) Neal of Anderson, Ind., Penny Ingle of U.C., Ind.; 29 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Linda (Gary) Furby, Sandy Lawrence, Debbie (Bill) Lewis, Jerry (Serena) Collins, Robin (Ted) Pechie, Tammy (Rick) Lane; several nieces and nephews also.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Neal; great granddaughter, Alana Keel.
Visitation is 12 Noon-2:00 P.M. Saturday January 23, 2016 at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc. 400 W. Deerfield Rd. Union City, Ind. Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Saturday also at the funeral home with the Rev. George Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the Union City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be directed to the Union City Athletic boosters or Mississinawa Valley Athletic boosters with envelopes available at the funeral home.
