Mary Elizabeth Fields

Mary Elizabeth (Hair) Fields, 83 passed away peacefully at Village Green Health Care on Thursday, November 11, 2021 after a long illness. The daughter of James and Virginia (Coppess) Hair, she was born September 30, 1938 in Greenville, Ohio. Mary grew up west of Ansonia, Ohio and was a graduate of Ansonia High School class of 1956. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Mike Fields.

On October 28, 1956 she married her sweetheart Robert (Bob) Fields at the Ansonia Christian Church. Together this young couple made their home on a farm outside of Ansonia where they raised their three sons. They were blessed to be able to celebrate 65 years together.

Mary was many things in life, a farm wife, mother, grandmother, an avid gardener, quilter, seamstress, and she loved to cook. She enjoyed her quilt club and garden club activities over the years where she created many beautiful pieces and friends along the way. Mary's faith was strong and she raised her family knowing God's love.

Mary is survived by her husband and their two sons, Rex (Shelly) Fields, Jon Fields, daughter-in-law Ann Fields; Seven grandchildren; Emily (Rod) Reynolds, Kari (Kyle) Warvel, Jenna (Ty) Smith, Tiffany (Kyle) Winner, Cody Fields, Laura (Justin) Mullins, and James Fields; eleven great-grandchildren; Lainey, Emmitt & Hallie Reynolds, Grady, Sophie & Henry Warvel, Evan & Landon Smith, Annalise, Laine & Cheyene Winner; her sister Martha (Dan) Jones; her niece Meridith Jones, and her dear friend Sara Kasler.

The family would like to thank Toni, Amy and the staff at Village Green for the care and kindness they have given to Mary on a daily basis. Also, thank you to Maggie, Carrie, Charity, and the Hospice staff for their dedication and care.

Private services will be held at Reichard Funeral Home in Union City, IN with Rev. Eric Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Weimer cemetery, Ridgeville, IN. There will be no public visitation.

Memorial contributions may be given to Everheart Hospice, 1350 N. Broadway, Greenville, OH.
