Margaret Ellen Hart

Margaret Ellen (Neff) Hart 90, of Union City, IN passed away peacefully at her home on March 7, 2024, surrounded by family.  She was born in Darke County, OH on August 10, 1933, to the late Andrew Pete Neff and Mary Elizabeth (Billheimer) Neff. She married Donald Hart on July 11, 1954, and he preceded her in death.

Margaret farmed alongside her husband Don and worked out of her home as a beautician.  She was a dedicated longtime member of Bartonia United Methodist Church, enjoyed line dancing for several years and volunteered weekly at the community food bank in Union City, OH.  She had a passion for hospitality, loved to cook, entertain, and loved playing cards and games.

Survivors include her children; Debra Kay Hart of Union City, IN and special friend Larry Martin of Greenville, OH, Donna Lynn (David) Coppage of Canton, GA, Keith Allen (Teresa) Hart of Union City, IN, grandchildren; Kendra Skeene, Matthew (Sara) Coppage, Austin Hart, Brandon (Amanda) Hart, Jared (Rachel) Hart, great-grandchildren; Ezekiel and Jonas Skeene, Elizabeth Coppage, Joy Hart, Morgan and Norah Hart, sister; Marianne Cox of Greenville, OH, several nieces, nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Donald Lee Hart, sisters; Mae Fern Young, Doris Cox, brother; Richard Joseph Neff, in-laws; Phyllis (Hart) Patenaude, Reginald Patenaude, Larry Cox, and Chrissy Neff.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday March 9, 2024, at Reichard Funeral Home 400 W. Deerfield Road Union City, IN. 

 A funeral service to celebrate Margaret’s life will begin at 2:00 pm on Sunday March 10, 2024, at the funeral home, preceded by one hour of additional visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow at Spartanburg Cemetery.
