Lynn Leon Rickert

Lynn Leon Rickert 79 of Union City, IN went to be with the lord on October 15, 2022, at Physicians Regional Hospital in Naples, Fl.  Lynn was born on August 21, 1943, to the late Arley and Pauline (Finney) Rickert.  He married Mary Ann (Mote) Rickert on July 29, 1967, and she survives.

Lynn lived life to the fullest. He was in the United States Air Force and a member of the Freemasons. He was an avid sports fan including Purdue, Indianapolis Colts, and the Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed swimming where he swam on 5 YMCA national championship teams and participated in 6 national championships.  Lynn initiated summer swim programs in Union City as well as Winchester. He was a member of the Olympic International Operating Committee as well as many other boards.  He was Bank President of Union Trust Bank for many years and loved spending time out on his farm with his dog Harley.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Mary Ann, daughters; Jenny (Stephen) Corbett of McCordsville, IN, and Jill Rickert of Indianapolis, IN sister; Arlene Knittle of Fort Wayne, IN aunt; Rosie Vickery of Union City, grandchildren; Riley Corbett, Matthew Corbett, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Jason Rickert.

Friends may call on Saturday October 22, 2022, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Reichard Funeral Home 400 W. Deerfield Road Union City, IN. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am.  Burial to take place at Union City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Jason Rickert Memorial Scholarship 731 N. Plum Street Union City, IN with designation to the scholarship fund.
