Lewis Neargarder

Lewis Neargarder, 84, of Union City, Ohio passed away Sunday March 29, 2015 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Lewis was born on December 11, 1930 in Randolph County, Indiana. He was a member of the Hillgrove Federated Church where he served as a Deacon, board member, and faithful church member, and also was a U.S. Army Veteran.
  He is survived by his Wife of 63 Yrs. Evelyn Wilson Neargarder; children, Tony (Carolyn) Neargarder of U.C. ,Indiana, Elaine (Doug) Wisner of U.C., Indiana, Ron (Laura) Neargarder of Winchester,      Indiana, Sherry (Mike) Mikesell of U. C., Ohio and Kerry (Melanie) Neargarder of U. C., Ohio. 16 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren. A sister, Sally Wilcox; 3 brothers, Irvin Neargarder, Lawrence Neargarder and Ralph (Marlene) Neargarder. Nieces and Nephews also survive.
  He was preceded by his parents, step mother, Lola Neargarder, 3 sisters: Thelma Beireis, Pauline Shoemaker and Dakota Key, a brother, Paul Neargarder.
  Visitation will 5-8 P.M. Wednesday April 1, 2015 at Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. Deerfield Road Union City, Indiana, and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Services are 10:30 A.M. Thursday April 2, 2015 at Hillgrove Federated Church with the Rev. Scott Trittschuh and Rev. Scott Stremmel officiating. Burial will follow in the Lisbon Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Randolph County Color Guard.
