Larry D. Leaver passed away peacefully on March 19, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born July 22, 1947 In Union City IN. Larry was a 1965 graduate of Union City Community High School. Larry proudly served in the United States Army. Larry served a tour in Vietnam and was assigned to the 57th Transport Company.
Larry leaves many friends and family to cherish his memory. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will miss Larry dearly. Even more, Larry's best friend and loving wife Nora is left with an unfillable void. Larry and Nora were married December 3, 1988 and remained by each other's side since. Larry and Nora loved each other unconditionally. Larry and Nora were inseparable.
Larry was a wise man with a tempered heart. When asked, Larry would share his experience and wisdom. Though not always easy to hear, his advice came from a place without ulterior motives. Larry was selfless, caring and compassionate; he was never quick to anger.
Larry enjoyed many hobbies. Larry enjoyed fishing at the ponds. Larry loved playing golf; however, his limited mobility made it difficult. Larry found great joy in taking his grandchildren to buy toys, candy, and happy meals. Most of all, Larry took the greatest pleasure in sitting on the deck with Nora, Roy and Minnie enjoying an ice cold beer.
Visitation will be 11:00am â 1:00pm Wednesday March 21, at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc. 400 W. Deerfield Rd. Union City, IN. Services are 1:00pm also at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Sonny Pettie officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens with military burial rites to be conducted by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
