Joyce Arlee (Hamilton) Lawrence, 81, surrounded by her family, went to be with the Lord after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease on February 18, 2018. She was born to Adrian and Beatrice Hamilton on July 11, 1936 in Union City, Indiana.
She got married to her husband, James Lawrence on July 10, 1954, was a loving mother to four, Genice, Adrianna, Anne, and Jimmy, and grandmother to many. She loved spending her time reading, gardening, and watching westerns. She loved butterflies, and collected anything butterfly related. She was an active church goer for many years until she could physically not attend anymore, and enjoyed getting her hair done weekly. She lived the majority of her life in Union City where she worked at Anchor in Winchester for 25 years, but also lived in Washington, Pennsylvania for 10 years, where she worked at a Amoco station.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Beatrice Hamilton, two sisters, Phyllis Michaels and Sue Murphy, beloved daughters Julia Anne Lawrence and Genice Longcrick, and one great grandson, Hailey Suttles.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James Lawrence; her stepmother, Charlene Hamilton; sister, Sharon MacDougall; step siblings, Terry Conklin and Roger Harter; children, Adrianna (John) Dickinson, James (Denise) Lawrence Jr.; seven grandchildren, Mike (Tammy) and Robert Suttles, Dawn (Michael) Mock, Kesha (Scott) Neal, Dakaota (Rayne) Wymer, Sierra (Thomas) Spoor, and Janae Lawrence; thirteen great-grandchildren, Drake (Rachelle) and Chanda Suttles, Blaze Suttles, Joette and Carmen Sigler, Kyra Mullens, Arron Mock, Madison Branscum, Rodney Perkins, Alexa and Tomi Neal, Charlie and Natalia Joyce Spoor, and had one on the way; son-in-law, Doug Longcrick; granddaughter-in-law, Lea Suttles; and of course, her sweet dog, Gabby.
