Jean L. Winans, 93, formerly of Union City, Indiana passed away Saturday October 31, 2015 at the Brethren Home in Greenville, Ohio. She was born in Wayne, Ohio on July 7, 1922 to the late Norman Kingsley and Marion Flory Williams.
Jean was a school teacher in Ohio and most recently was a substitute teacher and a head start aide. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, she was a Community Help Center worker and also was a board member.
She leaves to cherish her memory; children, Margaret L. Winans of Minnesota, Patrick (Cathy) Winans of Athens Tennessee, Barbara Waymire of Ansonia, Ohio and Beverly (John) Dziengelewski of Celina, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; siblings, Laura (John) King of Virginia, Ruth Reynolds of Wayne, Ohio, Lewis Williams of Maryland, and Julia Hirzel of Pemberville, Ohio.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Max D. Winans â1996,â a daughter, Mary L. Higgins, a granddaughter Rebekah Adkins and 3 great grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday November 6, 2015 at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc. 400 W. Deerfield Rd. Union City, Indiana. Burial will follow in the Union City Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Edwards officiating.
