Janice Eileen Jerew, age 65, of Marysville, Ohio, formerly of Union City, Ohio, died unexpectedly early Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Marysville. A retired elementary school teacher since 2007, she was an educator for the North Union School District in Richwood, Ohio for 35 years. She grew up in Union City, Ohio and was 1968 graduate of Mississinawa Valley High School. She received a bachelorâs degree in elementary education from Bowling Green State University in 1972 and attained a masterâs degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio in 2002. She was member of Marysville First United Methodist Church where she served in the nursery for several years and was very involved in the Emmaus community. She participated with Epiphany of Ohio prison ministry. She was a member of FD Chapter of PEO Sisterhood. An ardent shopper, she enjoyed embroidery and loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was born June 19, 1950 in Union City, Indiana to the late John Edward and Betty Jean Beam Jerew. She is survived by her sisters, Jean Jerew of Marysville, Phyllis (Dan) Mosier of Franklin, Ohio and Pamela (Kevin) Hampshire of Union City, Ohio; her nieces and nephews, Heather (Aaron) Brophy, John (Carri) Mosier, Andrew Hampshire, Cody Hampshire and Jessica Hampshire; her great-nieces and nephews, Audrey, Anna, Luke, Haisley and Aiva; and many other relative and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at Reichard Funeral Home in Union City, Indiana. Rev. John Hannon will officiate. Interment will follow at Union City Cemetery. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Marysville First United Methodist Church in Marysville, Ohio. Rev. Denise Turpin will officiate. The family will receive friends follow the service during a luncheon. Memorial contributions may be made to Epiphany of Ohio, Central Ohio Emmaus or PEO Sisterhood.
