Jacob Daniel Rittgers

Jacob Daniel Rittgers, 97, of Union City went home to be with the Lord Monday March 21, 2011.  He was born September 28, 1913 in Woodington, OH to the late Ira and Cora Hufford Rittgers.  In addition to his parents, Jacob Daniel was preceded in death by his sister Echo Strait and a brother, Everett Rittgers, Jacob Daniel was a building and remodeling contractor for many years.

  He is survived by his wife, Pauline Miller Rittgers whom he married November 8, 1934.  Also surviving are his children Sharon (Robert) Dwyer of Lucasville, OH; Sheila Wilson of Union City, IN; Grandchildren Bruce (Kathy) Dwyer, Lisa Snodgrass of Lucasville, OH; Kraig (Sheila) Elliott of Newark, OH; Sandra (Rick) Hocker of West Chester, OH; eight great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

 Services will be held Saturday March 26, 2011, 2 PM at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc. with one hour of visitation prior to the service.  A Eulogy will be given by a nephew Ted Strait with burial following at Teegarden Cemetery on S.R. #47 in Union City, OH.

  The family will receive family and friends Friday March 25, 2011 from 5-7 PM at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.reichardfh.com
