Howard E. Sipe, 86, formerly of North Salem, passed away Tuesday December 8, 2015 at Kindred Health-Care in Carmel, Indiana. He was born January 3rd, 1929 in Jay County, Ind., son of the late Orris H. and Mary Maude (Meehan) Sipe.
Howard was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked in maintenance at Westinghouse, was an electrician for over 30 years, attended the Pleasant Hill Church for 65 years where he served as a deacon, trustee, and a Sunday school teacher. Howard was also an avid woodworker and enjoyed making projects for the church, family, and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory; 2 sons, Randy (Linda) Sipe of Indlps, Ind., Kevin (Dena) Sipe of Frankton, Ind.; 4 grandchildren, Zach (Elise) Sipe, Rachel (Dr. Garrett) Kinnebrew, Jordan (Alexandra) Sipe, Allison Sipe; 2 great grandchildren; 2 sister-in-laws, Virginia Sipe, Wanda Barnett both of Portland, Ind.
He was preceded in death by; his parents; wife Ruth Ann (Morehous) Sipe â2011;â 3 brothers, Robert, Richard, and Donnel Sipe; 4 sisters, Bessie Sipe, Helen Sipe, Flora Morris, and Anna Wolford.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday December 11, 2015 at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc. 400 W. Deerfield Rd. Union City, Ind. and also an hour prior to services at the church. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 12, 2015 at the Pleasant Hill Church with the Rev. Bruce Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery where Military Burial Rites will be conducted by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
