Howard Atlee Franklin, 87, of Union City, IN passed away Monday Dec. 14, 2020 at Summer's Pointe in Winchester. He was born January 11, 1933 in Fort Recovery, OH to the late Clem and Ruth Franklin. He was employed at the Union City Body Company where he retired from after 31 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #158, Fraternal Order of Eagles #2790 and UAW Local 494. Howard enjoyed fishing at their lake front, working in his yard and garden as well as being an avid bowler.
He was preceded by his wife of 52 years Patricia L. Franklin, his parents, a son Robin Franklin, a brother Harlan Franklin, and a grandchild Jedadia Franklin.
Survivors include his children, Wyonia (Raymond) Bingham, Theresa (Ronnie) Amans both of Murfreesboro, TN, Michael (Hazel) Franklin of Ansonia, OH; a step son, Kevin Grimes of DeGraff, OH; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Caupp of Union City; several nieces and nephews also.
Visitation is 10-11 AM Saturday Dec. 19, 2020 at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc. Services are 11 AM Saturday also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bruce Bryan officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.reichardfh.com
