Harry P. Prescott, 83, passed away on Thursday October 10, 2024, at St. Vincent Randolph hospital in Winchester. He was born April 27, 1941, in Jay County, son of the late Henry and Helen Potter-Prescott.
Harry was a family man whose love and compassion knew no bounds through 4 generations. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed all different kinds of sports, and played for over 30 years in a Eurchre card club. Many family gatherings were spent playing cards and there even was Eurchre tournament with a trophy in our family. He was named the King of the Croquet set which he delighted in sending the balls of his opponents flying. He will be greatly missed but his legacy of love and faith lives on in his family.
He was preceded in death by his father Henry Prescott and his mother Helen Potter-Prescott and his brother Richard Prescott.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Diane Barkdull-Prescott of 64 years. They have 3 children: Rachele Prescott-Dickey (Bruce), Shon Prescott (Nancy), and Ranee Prescott Gilmore. His grandchildren are Chelsey Walker, Megan Luna-Walker (Migual), Shea Prescott (Aubrey), Zachary Prescott, and Kaitlin Prescott-Coghill (Josh), Amber Gilmore-Horner (Chris), and Nick Gilmore. His great-grandchildren are Viola Wytt, Lorelei Wyatt, Marlena Luna, Marina Belle Luna, Dalton Coghill, Lillian Coghill, Lucas Coghill, and Finley Horner.His brother Thomas Prescott (Ellen), sisters Judy Prescot-Keltner (Richard) and Becky Prescott-Owens (Don).
Visitation will be Thursday October 17, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon with the service to follow immediately afterward. This will be at the Reichard Funeral Home 400 West Deerfield Road, Union City IN 47390.
In lieu of flowers we ask you make a Memorial Contribution to the Wesley Church 5145 W. Oak St Union City, IN 47390 in memory of Harry Prescott. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.reichardfh.com.
