Harley Lumpkin, 87, Union City passed away Friday October 9th, 2015 at Pine Knoll nursing home in Winchester. He was born October 23rd, 1927 in Darke County, Ohio to the late William M. and Sarah Ann Cox Lumpkin.
Harley was a veteran of the United States Army, worked at the Union City body company for 27 years retiring in 1993, and also a lifelong farmer. He was a member of American Legion Post #158 and also the Elks Lodge #1534 both of Union City.
He leaves to cherish his memory; children, Michael (Mary Anne) Lumpkin of U.C., OH, Kathleen Lumpkin of Centerville, OH; grandchildren, Elayne Ward, Sara Ward, Natalie (Stewart) Oswalt, Audra (Travis) Hufford and Kelsey Lumpkin; great grandchildren, Daniel Whisner III, Selah and Judah Oswalt; step children, Mike Clevenger and Pat Collins; nieces, nephews and other family also.
He was preceded by his parents; wife of 23 years, Rachael Lumpkin "1993;" 11 siblings, Raymond, James, Freddy, Joseph, Richard and Harvey Lumpkin, Eva Pratt, Ruby Journey, Buelah Strait, Pauline Long and Mary Brinley.
Visitation is 10 a.m. - 12 noon Wednesday October 14, 2015 at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc. 400 W. Deerfield Rd. U.C., IN with the service at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Buena Vista Cemetery where military burial rites will be conducted by the Randolph County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to: Elks Lodge #1534 Cancer Fund or American Legion Post #158 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
