Fred C. Read, 97, passed away Thursday March 19, 2020 at the Randolph Nursing Home. He was born August 24, 1922 son of the late Fred and Bertha Schmidt Read.
Fred served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and also the Korean Conflict, he worked at Sheller-Globe Hardy's Division in Engineering for 30 years, belonged to the Trinity Lutheran Church, he loved wood working wood carving.
Survivors include 2 sons, Terry Read of Union City, IN, Mike (Wendy) Read of Greenville, OH; 2 grandchildren, Grant & Alexandria Read.
He was preceded by his parents; wife, Alberta I. Brundige Read "2016;" 5 sisters, Evelyn Fosnight, Freida Blizzard, Anna Barga, Mary Coppess and Margaret Lowe.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers. Online condolences may be expressed at www.reichardfh.com
