UNION CITY â Frederick Eugene âFredâ Burk, 88, went to be with his Lord late in the afternoon of October 15th, 2016. He was born August 29th, 1928 to the late Elmer and Gertrude (Brown) Burk near Union City, Ind.
He was a farmer most of his life and loved what he did. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling with friends, but the greatest love of his life was spending time with his family. As a member of the South Salem Church of Christ since 1946, he enjoyed church activities and the church family.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Wilma (Lamb) Burk; a son, Rex (Gwen) Burk of Union City, Ind.; two daughters, Cindy (Brian) Humphrey of Rushville, Ind., Tammie (Ed) Dickison of Elkhart, Ind.; nine grandchildren, Stacy Burk, Kristen (Justin) Melton, Alicia (Matthew) Davis, Ryan (Lindsey) Burk, Matthew (Amy) Humphrey, Jana Humphrey, Derrick Dickison, Jason Dickison, and Laura (Billy) Rice; fifteen great grandchildren, Chase Burk, Hudson, Ella and Ava Davis, Lucy and Bethany Melton, Hadley, Harper and Reid Burk, Taylor Humphrey, Pierce and Sydney Dickison, Paige, Chloe and Casey Rice.
He was preceded by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Ed Burk.
Visitation is 4-8 P.M. Wednesday October 19th, 2016 at Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. Deerfield Rd., Union City, Ind. Services are 10:30 A.M. Thursday October 20th also at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Napier officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester, Ind.
