Erwin Heinz Spille, 87, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2016. Erv was an amazing father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was born to Herman and Elsie Spille on May 17, 1928 in Union City, IN.
Upon graduation from high school, he served in the Navy for two years. Erv graduated from Butler University and worked for RCA in Indianapolis for many years. He decided he was ready to move away from the cold Indiana winters and came to Phoenix, Arizona where he worked for the U.S. Treasury in the Savings Bond Division. In 1988 Erv retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 27 years in the Air Force Reserves.
He is survived by his two children, Tracy (Tim) Clark, Jeff (Robin) Spille; brother Reinert Spille; and grandchildren Kaitlin, Taylor, Thomas, and Adam.
Erv was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, love of golf, and most of all his warm, caring heart. Services will be held Saturday, April 30th at 10:30 at Reichard Funeral Home in Union City, IN. Donations can be made to
