Eleanor Ann Peterson, age 88, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 19, with her family by her side, at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester. She was born Sept. 29, 1928, in Ipswich, South Dakota.
She graduated from Ipswich High School and attended Northern State Teachers College. She taught 1 year before moving to Indiana. She married Charles Peterson on May 16, 1951.
She worked for many years at Farmers State Bank in Union City, then after moving to Indianapolis, she worked 15 years at Peoples Bank and Trust. She and her husband retired and moved to Winchester in 1991.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Clara Maiers, her husband of 60 years Charles "2012," three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (John) Fraze of Union City; grandsons, Chris (Julie) Fraze of Ossian, IN, Kevin (Kelley) Fraze of Union City; four great grandchildren, Riley and Renee Fraze of Ossian, IN, Carter and Evan Fraze of Union City; a sister, Marmion Maiers of South Dakota; several nieces and nephews; also a very dear friend, Barb Hart.
As per her wishes, there will be no public visitation. Funeral service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
