Dale Hardeman, 91, Piqua, OH passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side Wednesday March 25, 2015.
He was born March 11, 1924 to the late Nancy Hardeman in Union City, OH. He served with the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Day De 225 in the South Pacific, and married Mary (Jenny) Livingston Nov. 10, 1998 in Piqua, OH. Dale was the last presidentially appointed Postmaster in 1963, he served for 26 years at the Lynn, Indiana post office. He was also a member of Elks Lodge #833 of Troy, OH, VFW Post 9582 of Vandalia, OH, Eagles Lodge in Covington, OH and also the American Legion in Tipp City, OH.
He leaves to cherish his memory; wife Mary âJennyâ Hardeman; son Dale J (Joe) Hardeman, stepson Michael (Charlotte) Maloon and stepdaughter Rikki (David) Bornhorst; 1 grandchild and 7 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Margaret Murphy Hardeman, a brother James Hardeman, a sister Juanita Kaucher, and a step grandchild RJ Maloon.
A Celebration of life service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday April 18th, 2015 at St. Paulâs Church, 500 N. Downing St., Piqua, OH 45356 with the Rev. Dr. Keith A. Gebhart officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at the St. Maryâs Catholic Cemetery in Union City, IN. Memorial contributions should be directed to Hospice of Miami County Ohio with envelopes available at the Church.
