Catherine Jane Mills

Catherine Jane Mills 82 of Union City, IN passed away on January 20, 2025, at Signature Healthcare in Muncie, IN. She was born on January 9, 1943, in Portland, IN to the late Spencer (Morgan) and Ruby (Freeman) Whittington.

Catherine worked at Jay Garment, Sheller Globe, Homier Corporation, and Randolph Eastern School Corporation. She enjoyed cooking, baking for her family and friends, and was an animal lover, especially her dogs.

Survivors include her children Beverly (Brad) Osborne of Union City, IN, John Mills II of Union City, IN, siblings Spencer Whittington, Paul Whittington, Rick Whittington, Grandchildren Seth (Blanca) Whitesel, Arielle (Thomas) Hatton, Brittany Osborne, Tonya Poole, Sean Mills, Sierra Mills, JD Mills, Michael Mills, great grandchildren Samuel Whitesel, Elijah Hatton, Bryce Poole, Densil Poole, Culper Poole, Silas Poole, Emma Poole, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John R. Mills, siblings James “Jim” Whittington, Lewis Whittington, Alice Whittington-VanElls, Billie Jean Whittington, brother-in-law Richard (Dick) Mills and sister-in-law Linda Mills.

Burial will take place later at the convenience of the family.
