Ashley Bryan, 26, last Monday went home to the Lord Jesus Christ her Savior following a long battle with anorexia.
She was born Oct. 31, 1985 to Beth Rugenstein and Jody Miller. Ashley was raised by Jack and Coletta Duffin in Indianapolis. She attended high school at Bishop Chatard in Indianapolis and college at St. Mary of the Woods. She was married to Josiah Bryan June 25, 2005 and they have lived in Union City, Ind., since then. Ashley was a member of Pleasant Hill Church. She was loved by her entire church family, who cared for her, encouraged her and prayed for her faithfully.
Ashley worked various jobs, but enjoyed being at home as well. She loved music and when healthy, frequently sang special music at church. She was known for her ready smile, and sincere compassion for hurting folks. Ashley excelled at just about everything she did.
Survivors include her mother, Beth Rugenstein; her father, Jody Miller; her brothers, Tim Duffin and Billy Duffin and by several other family members. Her closest friend, along with Josiah, was Krista Spence who carried many of Ashley's deepest burdens.
A celebration of life service in Ashley's honor is 4 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill Church with visitation beginning at 3 p.m. Pleasant Hill Church is located at 9945 N 800 E, Union City, Ind. The service will be streamed live via video online at www.MyPleasantHillChurch.org/live.
